How We Begin:
Understanding Your Child’s Unique Voice
Every child has something to say, but sometimes the "how" gets in the way.
Whether your child is struggling to be understood, finding it difficult to connect with peers, or facing challenges at the dinner table, our journey together begins with a deep dive into their world.
Victoria Stockton SLP is licensed to assess and offer in-home therapy for speech–language and feeding disorders.
Before treatment can begin, Victoria offers distinct assessments:
1.) Comprehensive Speech & Language Evaluation:
Assesses a child's language and speech production skills for a complete look at all aspects of communication
Receptive language skills – a child's comprehension of language
Expressive language skills – a child's expression of his or her thoughts and ideas
Pragmatics / Social language / Play skills
Speech production – a child's articulation of sounds for effective communication
2.) Speech Assessment:
Evaluates speech production skills and focuses primarily on articulation and fluency
3.) Feeding & Swallowing Assessment:
Evaluates feeding and swallowing issues based on individualized assessments uniquely customized to each child's needs
After your child's assessment, you will receive a comprehensive written summary that translates clinical findings into meaningful short-term and long-term goals tailored specifically to your child.
Upon request, Victoria provides consultations for Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and can recommend specific classroom accommodations to ensure your child has the tools they need to succeed in school.
